Middle Tennessee State University

Home of the Blue Raiders, Middle Tennessee State University is located in Murfreesboro in the heart of the Nashville Metropolitan area of Tennessee. MTSU was founded in 1911 an offers nine colleges with over 80 different degree programs to students. The University is best known for its programs in Music, Aerospace, Recording Industry and Concrete Industry Management. In 2009, Forbes ranked MTSU on its list of the Top 100 Public Universities.

The campus is set on a spacious 466 acres with thirteen dormitories and eight fraternity houses for students to reside. The Johnny “Red” Floyd Football Stadium is a hub for the Division I Blue Raiders during season as students come out to support their school. MTSU boasts a talented and distinguished list of alumni including former Vice President Al Gore as well as his fellow Nobel Peace Prize winner James McGill Buchanan.

Tennessee Guitar Festival

Held at Middle Tennessee State University, the Tennessee Guitar Festival is an annual music event hosted by the MTSU School of Music. The Tennessee Guitar Festival has been a Murfreesboro music festival for over a decade, and features a few of the finest guitarists in the country offering performances and masterclasses.
