Great Smoky Mountains National Park
An UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located in eastern Tennessee across over 520,000 acres. Gateway cities include Townsend, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Newport, with the nearest cities being Gatlinburg.
Intersected by the Appalachian Trail and U.S. Highway 441, and managed by the National Park Service, the Great Smoky Moutains draws nearly 10 millions annual visitors.
Visitors may gaze at the Blue Ridge Mountains atop the Clingmans Dome, trek up to 850 miles of hiking, or visit one of four historic districts within the park. You can also try fly fishing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and mountain biking – all accompanied by incredible wildlife views.
